| The saying 'it gets better with age' does Not apply to apartments.. if the management would spend at least half the attention to the Inside that they do to the outside, this place might be tolerable.. yes, the grounds are beautiful.. the outsides of the buildings are postcard-perfect.. every morning as I leave for work, I see someone picking up trash in the parking lot (I only assume he works for the complex)..... on the Inside, however, every single dinner-gone-bad, every puff of cigarette smoke, every fume of paint thinner or whatever other stench my neighbors have in their apartments gets pumped into my place thru the shared-ductwork.. there are mice in the walls, which the management combats with the minimal amount of mouse traps considered to be 'doing something about the problem' (in other words, one measly trap -- not even placed close to where the mouse is getting into my apt! how about calling an exterminator?!).. there is sound-bleedthru galore between apts.. the fixtures and appliances are falling apart.. although, nothing glaringly obvious.. you have to fill the dishwasher up before you realize that it's not fastened to the counter (when it nearly topples over onto it's front).. and after taking my vents off to install my own filters, I would guess the ducts haven't been cleaned since they built these apartments in the 70s -- at least, that's the guess I would make based on the amount of dust and mold built up in there.. and I certainly wouldn't give the management any medals.. they're the ones who showed me this place and completely glossed over everything that I've mentioned [when I asked during the walk-thru].. sure, they're all very courteous and polite.. but when it comes down to it, courtesy cannot fix a broken down 30-year old apt complex with pest problems and ineffectual maintenance.. Stay Away from this place! |
