Apartment Review for Gatehouse - Lexington, KY

My fiance` and I have lived here for two years. The first was great, low rent, pretty nice neighbors and so on. This last year has been horrible. The leasing agent that worked here when we moved in transfered and now the manager nor the new agent cares who or what moves in. Neighbors are loud (music, screaming...) and the office doesn't care. Peeping Tom shutter painters and gutter-cleaners --- no respect for privacy! There are non-exsistent courtisy officers- never seen one and never come when you call. Maintence comes in when they want, whether you're home or not. A chain lock was on our door, we didn't here them knock (because they hardly did) and so they unlock the door and put their arm in, trying to unlock the chain! They had to know someone was home- you can't lock those from the outside! Stuff always seems to be "missing" i.e. sodas. Also, we were told that maintence was suppost to leave slips that state they have been in our apartment to work or check something out, we recieved two... inthe first four months we lived here. You never know when they have been in your place. My fiance` experienced a hit and run in the parking lot. He asked the office if they could help him out with some of the same color cars in the complex that matched the scrapes. They told him if he gave them the liscense plate info. they could tell him who did it... if we knew that much it we wouldn't need any help! Maintence, agents, manager and all are extremely rude... once they get you to sign that lease they treat you however they want. Our lease runs out in another month and we are out of here. The stress has been unbearable and we look forward to being able to sleep all night and not fear that someone will just waltz in anytime.
