Read your lease carefully...

Newtown has nice apartments to live in, but the unfriendly and unwilling to work with you office staff will definitely make you think twice about signing another lease. while the campus is attractive and the pool mediocre, if you're planning on staying a 2nd year, watch out. there is no incentive to stay a 2nd year actually. they gear all of their leasing deals to new residents, and to move to the other side of my building next year, even though I'm renewing a $545 a month lease, they are actually penalizing me $200. I asked them if that fee came with someone to help me carry my boxes. They are very sneaky and try to cut corners. You already will be paying above $500 for your monthly rent, and they will try to get money out of you any way they can. And if you're not a first time resident visiting the campus, don't expect a smile when you walk in the office. the friendliest people at the place are the maintenance men, despite their random appearances in your apartment, which are quite frequent and disturbing. If you are moving in, also make sure they actually painted and cleaned the carpet like they were supposed to. We had to call the carpet cleaners to come back and they obviously hadn't repainted my apartment due to the mismatching splotchy colors on my wall. I want other people to know about this to save them the trouble of dealing with this horrible management staff. |
