Apartment Review for Scottish Links Apartments - Lexington, KY

I moved in to this apartment complex in 2006, and even though I had an open mind, I have been disappointed again and again. The apartment that you get may vary individually, but the major theme is POOR WORKMANSHIP. The septic systems are backed up and will flood your tub with NASTY fluid and feces. YUCK! Although the handyman is great and responded really quick to our desperate situation, management is a whole different story. The encounters that I have had with them prove how rude and incompetent they are. I have been "scolded" for dog feces that is not from my dog, and threatened to be evicted after FINDING a notice laying on my doorstep that said I had not paid my rent. Of course, I had paid and had the check to prove it. After contacting my bank and discovering that Scottish Links had already cashed my check, I contacted the office, where I received attitude and NO apology. They are so rude and certain that they are right that they will never give the benefit of the doubt. Keep in mind...my rent had never even been late. Oh, on top of that, I discovered that I have been paying an extra $40 each month. Funny....they never contacted me about that! And with all that extra money I've given them, they were going to evict me without correct notification and having never been late. Although this place has recently been bought by a new company, they still employ this particular office manager. I am not alone in my feelings regarding her and her attitude. Every single individual that I've spoken to here despises her. NEVER RENT HERE! It is simply not worth it. We are leaving as soon as possible.
