There is no air conditioning yet. Supposedly it will be turned on in a week. They claimed that they couldn't turn it on yet and that they have theirs on in the leasing office because "they're just testing it out to make sure it's ok before we get ours." bs. I contacted the town LAST MONTH when they had air and we didn't and the town said that the apartment could have the heat and air switched whenever sonnet cove wanted. All they had to do was call and have it switched. So it's been in the 90s... but at least i have heat... And then as for the water, that's another joke. We are CONSTANTLY having problems with it. Without warning it gets so hot that it burns you and then there are all the times that we haven't even had water. Getting it to a decent temperature is a joke too. And when you turn on the hot water it comes out orange for a few seconds! Disgusting! Also the sink in my kitchen leaks a little when you turn it on, I've told them about it and they've supposedly fixed it but it still leaks. And almost every time that i'm in the leasing center with a problem, someone else is in there talking about how their ceilings are leaking. And if you get one on the bottom floor, you might want to get renters insurance because your place will surely be flooded! And most of our neighbors are friendly, they range in age. They're alright but they're pretty loud especially on the weekends but I've never made a formal complaint so I guess I cannot complain too much. Also there is much cultural diversity here..... almost none of my neighbors speak english. Some of the nicer places are only a hundred or so more dollars then here. I pay 649 for a two bedroom two bath, which is decent for the size but I'd much rather a slightly smaller place if it meant that it would be nicer. The carpets are gross and stained. They were suppose to clean mine before i moved in but never did. I actually ended up cleaning it myself. The place is also poorly painted so it's chipping everywhere. Thankfully they spray for bugs all of the time so I've never had a problem with that but I know that some of my neighbors did. Also the staff are not the most wonderful people ever. Their stories change frequently on what is going on. blame is often trasnferred from one person to another all of the time. The maintence staff does come and attempt to fix most problems. A few of them are rude but about 80% of the time they get the job done quickly The grounds look horrible. Two weeks ago the grass had still yet to be mowed from the winter it was up to my knees! They finally mowed but left all of the nasty grass clippings on the ground, which is doing a marvelous job of killing the grass underneath it. Also it is wonderful for my allergies. The pool is ok, except the lawn chairs are all old, gross and broken and I wouldn't want to actually sit on them. The laundry facilities are just dirty. However, you can have a washer and dryer in your apartment, if you don't mind them being in the middle of your kitchen and bathroom. I just go somewhere else to do mine. The fitness center is another story as well. It's marvelous that they have one. And even better the key is only 15 dollars which is really cool. but the tanning beds are completely broken. It's very dirty, I don't think it has EVER been cleaned. Also the machines are old and out dated. And only some of them are still functioning properly. The location is not so wonderful either. I wish I had taken into consideration that it is right next to a highschool. The football field is right behind one of the buildings and the lights are very bright. You can hear the games almost as well as just being there. Also, down the street the houses are really nice but in the other direction (by richmond road) there's a bunch of section 8 housing. Cops are always linging the streets down there and the walgreens is frequently being robbed. Also there has been a few theift sprees where people's cars have had their windows smashed out and things stollen from them. It's lit but i don't feel safe to walk around by myself at night. It would be nice if it was decent. Sure, it's a place to sleep... but i have to live here too. Would be nice if it was more liveable. I DEFINITELY will not be staying when my lease is up.
