Apartment Review for Wassmer Properties - Lexington, KY

Wassmer is the worst landlord! As a tenant, I was told that windows would be replaced during my lease. The wood had literally rotted through, and the glass panes were falling out. Eventually the maintenance staff stopped by and puttied the frame back together (rather, the rotten mildewed remains of the wood). I insisted that they be replaced, though they never were. When my lease expired, I was nickled and dimed out my 350 dollar deposit. Per the lease, 75 dollars was retained for carpet steaming. However, another 50 dollars was retained for "dusting and vacuuming". I argued with the landlord that it is not necessary to vacuum if the carpets were also to be steamed. He shouted back, "Then sue me!", and hung up the phone. I have no other reason to take my time to write this review, other than to warn anyone else who might consider leasing from Bill Wassmer, he does not follow through with his promises to repair aged and deteriorating property. I've neither met a former tenant who speaks highly of Wassmer, and several former tenants were denied their due deposit amount. Do not rent from Wassmer!
